I am a sick old man ,with pain and I am irritable.
I sit in the Emergency room and read the sign
That Verbal abuse or Physical abuse will not be tolerated. I can go as far back as when a patient lit his bed on fire and I ask myself how did we reach this point ?
Doctors , nurses ,medical staff have difficult jobs and each and everyone do it for their own reasons . I feel compassion for health care workers and the tough job they have.
One needs to be dedicated and endowed with
some of Mother Theresa's qualities.
As far as Raison D'etre , the patient comes into action, as that is the basis for the existence of Hospitals. I will not elaborate on this , all I can surmise that with 12 hour shifts : Tolerance, patience, raw nerves, fatigue ,pain and suffering set in and signs need to be erected.
For some , several Days Off is the job attraction and I would suggest take seven in a row four times a month !
